a brief U. S.ban and consequently facing some hefty fines last year, ZTE has since picked up the pieces and is now back in full force. The ZTE Axon 10 Pro is its latest phone in the flagship Axon line and is the successor to last year's ZTE Axon 9 Pro.There isn't much about the ZTE Axon 10 Pro that is exclusive, but for the cash, it packs quite the punch. You're getting top-tier requisites, a large battery, triple cameras, an in-screen fingerprint sensor, a clean Android program experience, and modern hardware. What's it like using the ZTE Axon 10 Pro?And is it a worthy alternative to other budget friendly flagships?

This is Android Authority's ZTE Axon Pro 10 Review.

About our ZTE Axon 10 Pro Review: During this review, I used the ZTE Axon 10 Pro over a period of seven days on T-Mobile's network in and around Kansas City. The review unit was offered by ZTE. I used the 6GB of RAM version with 128GB of storage. The firmware version is GEN_EU_EEA_A2020G_Pro_V1.1.

ZTE Axon 10 Pro review: The big picture

ZTE's Axon series has always offered first-rate hardware at a brilliant value with very few compromises. At 599 euros, the ZTE Axon 10 Pro is priced to compete in opposition t the OnePlus 7 Pro and Asus Zenfone 6. It's a phone that falls in the flagship category without the flagship price. It should attract cellphone buyers who want a high quality adventure that doesn't cost one thousand dollars or more.

At 599 euros, the ZTE Axon 10 Pro is priced to compete towards the OnePlus 7 Pro and Asus Zenfone 6.The ZTE Axon 10 Pro is already available in China and Europe, and there is a 5G edition for 899 euros delivery later this month when you are interested in faster instant speeds. A U. S. version isn't completely beyond the realm of probability, but I would not hold out for it until ZTE makes it authentic.

What's in the box

  • USB-C charging cable and wall adapter

  • Clear TPU case

  • Earbuds

  • 3. 5mm adapter

ZTE bundles the Axon 10 Pro with the fundamentals to get you began. There's the usual USB-C charging cable, wall plug, SIM tool, and quick start guide. A generic clear case is protected and will come up with decent protection, but it's not anything particular. Since the ZTE Axon 10 Pro doesn't have a headphone jack, you furthermore may get a 3. 5mm adapter for you to use to plug in the included earbuds, or, better yet, your favourite pair of headphones.

Oppo Reno 10x Zoom, but it's quick enough to feel reliable. It's also very accurate at spotting your fingerprint so long as your palms aren't wet or covered in grease.

We examine and have interaction with the monitor more than the rest on our cellphone so it's critical that the display is of high quality. I'm happy to say that the Axon 10 Pro provides in this aspect. The AMOLED screen produces nice colors and has first-rate distinction due to its natural deep dark blacks. The colors aren't quite as vibrant as a Samsung reveal but there's still enough punch to make the screen pop.Clash Royale, the phone has kept up well with my usual cellphone hobbies. #gallery-3 margin: auto; #gallery-3 . gallery-item float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; #gallery-3 img border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; #gallery-3 .gallery-caption margin-left: 0; /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-comprises/media. php */
To help boost functionality, ZTE uses an AI engine to be told your app usage over time. This will preload apps into memory that you happen to use commonly to cause them to load faster. It sounds minor and you may not even notice it, but this guarantees that your app event continues to be snappy and responsive.

  • 4,000mAh

  • Qualcomm Quick Charge 4. 0, 18W charger

  • 15W Qi wireless charging

Battery life on the ZTE Axon 10 Pro was equally great.I was able to get among five and 6 hours of screen-on time. These numbers don't sound insanely high when compared to the eight-plus hours that we got on the Huawei P30 Pro, but I found it to be more than enough. I was able to get through a full day simply. A typical day for me consists of checking three email accounts, looking social media, watching YouTube, and playing games for a couple of hours. The phone was connected to Wi-Fi whenever I was at home and screen brightness was manually set to 50 percent. I didn't use the performance or battery saver modes.

Qualcomm Quick Charge 4. 0 is the Axon 10 Pro's fast-charging approach to choice. It takes about two hours to charge the telephone to full. You also have the option to charge the device through Qi instant charging. I've never regarded instant charging to be a necessary characteristic, but it is easy if you're not in a rush.

I'm partial to wide-angle lenses and the only on the ZTE Axon 10 Pro is only as great as another for taking pictures group photos or landscapes.Anti-distortion is built into the lens and works very well at preserving the sides of the photos completely instantly. The draw back to this lens is it doesn't produce images that are nearly as sharp as the main lens. Details look smudgy and there's a considerable softness you could see with out zooming in.php */ 20MP wide-angle 20MP wide-angle

The telephoto lens is capable of 3X optical zoom, 5x hybrid zoom that combines data from all three lenses, and 10x electronic zoom. Its focal range is not as awesome as the more expensive Huawei P30 Pro or Oppo Reno 10x Zoom, but it works well for many circumstances. Being in a position to get closer for your area with out physically moving is extremely useful, and images still look extremely sharp at 3X. Photos taken at 5X are a bit softer, though only a bit of.arcanetechs.com/i/blog/1600665676/aHR0cHM6Ly9jZG41Ny5hbmRyb2lkYXV0aG9yaXR5Lm5ldC93cC1jb250ZW50L3VwbG9hZHMvMjAxOS8wNi9aVEUtQXhvbi0xMC1Qcm8tQ2FtZXJhLVNhbXBsZXMtMzcuanBn">

Low-light functionality is the camera's largest weak point and the loss of OIS really shows. Colors are good and images commonly come out bright, but the detail is critically missing. Photos just don't look sharp at all. The night mode helps with bringing back one of the vital lost shadow and highlight detail, but it doesn't do much else. The photos still appear soft and colors more muted. It also takes a number of seconds to seize and, without optical image stabilization, you actually need a gradual hand.arcanetechs.com/i/blog/1600665676/aHR0cHM6Ly9jZG41Ny5hbmRyb2lkYXV0aG9yaXR5Lm5ldC93cC1jb250ZW50L3VwbG9hZHMvMjAxOS8wNi9aVEUtQXhvbi0xMC1Qcm8tQ2FtZXJhLVNhbXBsZXMtNjIuanBn"> Night Mode Off Night Mode On
Navigating through the camera app is corresponding to most other camera apps. Swiping left to right will switch between the various modes and swiping all of the way to the left will reveal further modes.Basic camera settings, beauty mode, HDR, and filter options are all at the top of the camera app. Every option in the camera is well available with just a couple swipes or taps.

  • Android 9.0 Pie

  • Near-stock OS

If you're an avid fan of pure Android experiences like myself, you'll love the program on the ZTE Axon 10 Pro. Out of the box, it's a near-stock build of Android 9 Pie, which keeps the event simple, clean, and fast. In mid-January 2020, ZTE kicked off the OTA update bringing Android 10 to the Axon 10 Pro.ZTE does come with a handful of its own features, but they are incorporated in a seamless manner, corresponding to how OnePlus handles OxygenOS.gallery-item float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 25%; #gallery-7 img border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; #gallery-7 . gallery-caption margin-left: 0; /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-comprises/media. php */

The application is much like what you'd see on a Google Pixel. All of ZTE's customizations are neatly tucked away in the features component of the settings menu. There are some useful gestures, a one-handed mode, a built-in screen recorder, and the capability to pick out between basic on-screen buttons or gesture-based navigation. Otherwise, the application is much like what you'd see on a Google Pixel. There's no extra bloatware and ZTE uses lots of Google's apps like Dialer, Photos, and Messages as the default applications.php */

  • No headphone jack

  • Dual audio system

  • DTS: X Ultra surround sound

Not having a headphone jack could be disappointing for some, but the ZTE Axon 10 Pro makes up for it in other ways. The dual audio system include a main bottom firing speaker and the earpiece is used as the secondary speaker. The audio system are loud with no signs of distortion at max volume, but the experience suffers from a similar issue I had with the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom — the bottom speaker is much louder than the earpiece. This ends up making a lopsided stereo sound that doesn't sound fascinating, especially when the phone is held in panorama orientation.IP53 certification, and a telephoto zoom lens — all of which the Zenfone 6 lacks.Snapdragon 855 and in-reveal fingerprint sensor. Also, there aren't many phones that I can think of in this finances that supply both instant charging and IP certification. It won't do too much to differentiate itself but not everybody cares about unique characteristics or gimmicks. This is a phone that specializes in offering a fast and reliable experience, and lots of the traits are functional. The ZTE Axon 10 Pro definitely nails those facets and is a superb discount that will not be overlooked.

And that wraps up our ZTE Axon 10 Pro review.
